What a competitive week at Del Rio Lanes! Many bowlers were up for consideration to become the latest Bowlers of the Week, but two shined just bright enough to take home the honors.

For the first time this year, the Knights of Columbus league has a winner, and it’s John Tellers! He’s joined by Friday Vegas’ Maureen Slater.

We’ll start off this week with Tellers, who outdid past 2019 Bowler of the Week, Friday Vegas’ Dan Solwick, by two points according to our esteemed Bowler of the Week generator!

The high series of the week came out of 9:30 Mass, where Juan Zavala posted a very nice 780. The name of the game here is pins over average though, and with a 226 average, it’s not enough to be named Bowler of the Week.

Brings us to Tellers, a staple of our Knights of Columbus and a member of Tellers Bunch, a very proud team of that league. John is averaging 188 this season, and got off to a near perfect start!

His scores were:

  • 277
  • 243
  • 211

His 731 was 167 pins over his average, which most weeks would be a runaway for Bowler of the Week. But a two-pin win is a win, and well deserved, John!

Slater, hands down is one of the most recognizable faces on Friday nights (at 6 p.m.) in the Friday Vegas league, and this week she took no prisoners.

Fellow member of the Friday Vegas league, Fanny Moran came in second place this week, while Shay Ball of TTC Trios was your third place bowler for the ladies.

A 186 average, Slater also got off to a big start out of the gate.

Her scores for the night were:

  • 256
  • 222
  • 205

That’s a 683 series, and 125 pins over her average for the week.

Did you bowl against either of these bowlers? They’re pretty good aren’t they? Strike back this coming week and make your case to be one of next week’s Del Rio Lanes Bowler of the Week!
